Les Enfants Terribles, otherwise known as the two french poets Rimbaud and Verlaine, terrorised Paris through the course of their heady and destructive affair.
This concert will explore two work by the poets. Firstly, La Bonne Chanson by Fauré with poetry by Verlaine, and secondly, Les Illuminations by Britten with poetry by Rimbaud.
Imogen Baker (Soprano) will be accompanied by members of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Strings Department, using Fauré’s String Quintet arrangement for La Bonne Chanson and the string orchestra arrangement of Les Illuminations.
